The new 2018 Yamaha MT 07 features an all new body design, inspired heavily by its bigger brother, the MT 09. A bold headlight, newly designed fuel tank and MT 09 esque air intakes lends a sharper, more mature and altogether more imposing look, while a new seat and separate black side panels highlight the front-heavy design. This seat hasn't just improved aesthetics. Wrapping around the rear of the fuel tank it also promises to be significantly more comfortable over the previous guise. Suspension has been uprated for 2018, while retaining the comfortable, progressive and predictable performance, which allows the model to excel in various conditions. There's 130mm travel at both front and rear, with the front forks featuring revised settings to provide a sportier feel. The rear, meanwhile, boasts a new rebound damping adjuster, which allows for the ultimate adaptability, to suit the rider's style.Under the seat sits Yamaha's 698cc CP2 crossplane engine. Making 74.8hp (there's also a lower powered A2 variant available), this engine reportedly produces strong, linear torque, which Yamaha believe is the secret behind the 182kg MT-07's success.

Yamaha have simply improved on an already excellent bike by addressing the handling issues of the original bike. New suspension gives more control and freedback, which in-turn gives the rider mode confidence at speed. The new styling has added appeal and quality. My overall experience of hiring a Bike from these guys was damn good. Easy process, Trina was great to deal with throughout the booking stage. Very personable staff, can't remember the guy I dealt with once I arrive, but he was great. Great interaction and nothing was too much trouble and all round just good conversation. Hired the MT07 for a weekend jaunt with a friend, I was considering buying one and glad that I took it out for a few days. The guys are Superbike Rental are great. Super service, always trying to make your hiring experience as great as they possibly can. Bikes are in perfect condition when you arrive and Brian and Mark are always on hand to provide helpful tips on the bikes and in general, especially useful for a newer rider like myself. Was especially impressed when I hired a bike in June (MT07 - great bike), I had to rearrange dates at the very last moment. I thought this would be an issue but not at all. Absolutely fantastic. What can I say. If you want to hire a bike then this is the place to go. Real friendly staff and massive choice of bikes. I learnt not to hesitate in hiring as I lost out on the chance of the 899 Ducati but still had loads of fun on the R6 2017. I first contacted Superbike Rental after wanting to test the Yamaha R6 as I am looking to purchase one when I move to New Zealand. I thought it would be a good idea to ensure it suited me and I would not be disappointed. Having looked around at a few companies, Superbike Rental were by far the best and most informative. Their website gave a full accurate insight into what was available where as many of the others just showed 'similar models'. I emailed Brian who was very good in responding and answering my questions. He went the extra mile in explaining he could lend me clothing as my clothing was already on its way to New Zealand. Once I called up to pay he went through everything with me in thorough detail and ensured I understood everything.
When I went to pick up the Yamaha, it was ready and waiting. The bike was immaculate and you can see that the guys at Superbike Rental clearly take great care. After sorting out the admin bits I was given a range of jackets, gloves and helmets to find the best fit. All the clothing was clean and tidy, which has not always been the case when I have used bike rental companies previously. I was then taken over to the bike and had everything explained to me. The guys were really patient and were really kind, even going as far as driving it out the front of the garage so I had a free run. The bike was great!
I could not believe how great the guys were when I returned the bike. They took great interest in asking how I found it and even gave me a lift back to Brentwood station.
